“My roots are deep in this prairie. I am part of the rhythm of the place — of the mornings just before and after sunrise, when grass shrubs and trees are bejeweled; of the evenings when the grosbeaks swoop low and feed on insects and the doe deer and the porcupine silently emerge from the woods to visit the clover.”

Justice William O. Douglas writing about
Goose Prairie in his autobiography, “Go East, Young Man”

Camp Fife has been a thriving youth camp property for more than a century, hosting generations of summer programs, council gatherings, and district events. In April 2026, stewardship of the camp transitioned from Scouting America’s Chief Seattle Council to Friends of Camp Fife, who are excited to guide the property into its next hundred years of outdoor adventure and community impact.

Visitors carry unforgettable memories from their time here – whether splashing in the pool, riding horses, or discovering new skills and confidence through hands‑on experiences in the heart of the Okanogan‑Wenatchee National Forest. Camp Fife remains a place where stories are made, friendships grow, and the forest itself becomes part of the learning.
