This moderately difficult trail accesses the William O. Douglas wilderness area. Passing through dense timber near Flat Iron Lake, the way also hosts good campsites for visitors.  The trail offers views of the Bumping River, and a short side trail (975A) leads to the actual bubbling natural springs. The water from the springs is safe to drink after being tested (though it may have an unusual taste).
